Kevin Love Career Highlights

With the soon inevitable trade nearing, I thought it would be a good idea to reminisce about Kevin Love's playing days with the Wolves.

I personally was a fan of his. He is in my opinion a NBA Superstar due to his unique skill set. Below is the video T-Wolves fans. Appreciate it, and what ever you do, don't take for granted how well Kevin Love played for the Wolves.

Reports: Timberwolves and Cavaliers Have Handshake Deal

Well then, this report just about made my day. In the report, it is stated that Brian Windhorst of ESPN, went on ESPN radio yesterday and said that the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Minnesota Timberwolves have a handshake agreement regarding the much rumored trade involving Kevin Love and Andrew Wiggins.

The finer details of the trade have yet to move past speculation. With the only thing set in stone appearing to be Andrew Wiggins being the deal’s center piece.

That said, those speculated finer trade details include Philly possibly sending Thaddeus Young to the Timberwolves and the 76ers acquiring last year’s first overall pick Anthony Bennett as well as additional draft picks.

The trade would honestly be a win-win for everybody. The 76ers have the opportunity to take a flyer on a kid with upside and continue on with their rebuilding plan. The Cavs get the best Power Forward in the game. Meanwhile, the Wolves get Wiggins, a potential superstar, and Thad Young, a 26-year-old 7-year NBA veteran small ball four who is a solid starter with the ability to stretch the floor.

Yes, T-Wolves fans, it would be nice to get a pick thrown in as well. But honestly, and Cavs fans, take note -- sometimes it’s best to take what you’re given and not be greedy.

Timberwolves and Free Agent Guard Mo Williams Agree to 1 Year Deal

Yesterday, it was reported by the all mighty powerful Woj (real name Adrian Wojnarowski, of Yahoo Sports) that the Timberwolves and free agent veteran point guard Mo Williams agreed to a 1 year 3.75 million dollar contract.

The former Portland Trail Blazer gives the Wolves a solid backup point guard to play behind Ricky Rubio, and more importantly, likely provides the second unit with much more stable play – especially compared to that of JJ Barea, who was at times erratic and appeared to hijack possessions.

My thoughts on the signing?

Cool since it’s a one year deal under 4 million. But honestly, all that the move means, is that the Wolves are likely making another move. The Wolves have a log jam at guard at the moment -- Mo Williams, Alexey Shved, Ricky Rubio, Zach LaVine, JJ Barea. In order to have a more balanced roster, one of those players has got to go. And signs point to the Wolves likely getting rid of Barea or Shved. Which one? Now that remains to be seen.

Hi there Timberwolves fans. In case you haven't been on the internet in the past 24 hours, I thought I should let you know that there are reasons to be excited about the team (and no, it's not Wiggins. At least not yet - remember we have to wait 20 or more something days). His name is Zach LaVine, and in case you needed further proof - the man can jump out of this world 

At the Seattle Pro-Am yesterday, rookie guard Zach LaVine put on a show that would have lead Kenny Smith to scream one last time "Let's go home! LET'S GO HOME!!!"

T-Wolves Re-Sign Robbie Hummel To One Year Deal

The Timberwolves signed Robbie Hummel to a one year 900,000 contract yesterday. A somewhat versatile forward given the fact he can play either the 3 or 4, Hummel provides the team with an adequate three point shooter who can stretch the floor. Even better about his game – he rarely turns the ball over.

In the 655 minutes he played last year, he turned the ball over only 10 times. As stated by Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk, his 5.2% Turnover Percentage was the second lowest Turnover Percentage in the league, behind only Ryan Anderson.

As odd of a compliment as this is going to sound – but Hummel has this great ability to just not screw up badly. His ability to hit three pointers at a decent rate (36%) while also not making mistakes that lead to points for the opposition is what’s keeping him in the league.

Signing Hummel does raise concerns about the development of Glenn Robinson III. But at the moment, who knows if there will be any GRIII development on the T-Wolves. From Doogie:

With the signing of Hummel, the Wolves will have 14 players signed under guaranteed contracts for the upcoming season.

Wally's World Of Chaos

As a basketball nerd I have a spent an unhealthy amount of time on the new website nyloncalculus.com. Why, other than because of its cool name? BECAUSE IT HAS SHOT CHARTS FOR EVERY PLAYER THAT HAS BEEN IN THE LEAGUE SINCE 1996 UP UNTIL NOW!

Anyway, as I was perusing the site, I stumbled upon a shot chart that caused me to wonder in amazement.

It belongs to Wally Szczerbiak from his 2003 campaign. Now, obviously if you recall the 2003-2004 season, while a great year for the Wolves (the greatest actually in franchise history), it was an injury plagued season for Wally World as he only appeared in 28 total regular season games. And of those games, he started zero and played only 22 minutes a game. That said, despite the small sample size during a season in which he attempted a mere 236 shots, the locations in which he took those 236 shots showcase no rhyme or reason in his shot selection.

Sure, one could argue he kinda favored the left side more than the right side, but in reality, it appears Wally, as usual, was stuck in his own world - chucking shots when he wanted and wherever he wanted.
