Timberwolves 2007 NBA Draft

One name that I have recently heard as a potential 2007 first round selection for the Minnesota Timberwolves is Corey Brewer. There are a couple of things that really stood out when I dissected the mock drafts and the write-ups on Brewer. The first is that the "experts" feel he is capable of being a lock down defender in the NBA and that he has shown a willingness to put forth as much effort on defense as he does on offense. That trait is definitely something that the MN Timberwolves lacked last year. Other than sporadic defense by Trenton Hassle, the only player that you could count on to play tough D was Kevin Garnett. Secondly, he is know for his work ethic and his willingness to do the dirty work. The Timberwolves need more players that aren't concerned with their individual stats but are instead willing to roll up their sleeves and go to work.

If what the "experts" are saying about Corey Brewer is correct, he would look awfully good as a Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Player. I am to the point that I am willing to give up some talent for guys that play hard, play for the team and enjoy the game. Those traits tend to be contagious and maybe it would allow the Timberwolves to break out of their three year slump!

Wouldn't it be great if we got some lottery luck this year as opposed to always losing out on picks that we should have received? Is it way too much to hope for for the 1st or 2nd pick?
