Dont Dismiss the Wolves

This Timberwolves fan is going to make a pledge to be optimistic this year (at least until after the first couple of regular season losses). Everyone in the sports world is calling this year a rebuilding year for the Minnesota Timberwolves. "They" say that without Kevin Garnett the Wolves will not be competitive in the NBA. I have to disagree. I think the team will be young, but they will also be full of drive and out to prove themselves. I think they will have an incredible amount of intrinsic motivation to do well. Wolves vice president Kevin McHale has even said, “These guys don't want it to be called rebuilding; these are young guys who are convinced they're going to go out there and win games" I agree and maybe this is Minnesota’s chance to be a Cinderella NBA team (rankings show us just a hair above the Kings in the race to the be the worst team in the 2007-08 season). These young guys can jell quickly and may do a lot better than everyone thinks they will.

The Wolves open training camp Saturday.
