Timberwolves Trade Davis

The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has acquired forwards Antoine Walker and Wayne Simien and center Michael Doleac, along with a first-round draft pick and financial considerations from the Miami Heat in exchange for center Mark Blount and guard Ricky Davis. Let’s hope this move helps build a Minnesota Timberwolves future . . .sooner rather than later.

TIMBERWOLVES BEAT LAKERS

In what has been an otherwise disappointing season, the Minnesota Timberwolves rose to the occasion on Tuesday to beat the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a thrilling double overtime win in which the whole team contributed to the winning effort. It was not the sloppy uninspired play that has plagued the Wolves the last month. Instead it was a game that had an NBA Playoff atmosphere. Maybe the Minnesota Timberwolves have started to understand that their backs are against the wall and that they need to go on a roll in order to make the playoffs this year.

The cherry on the top was that Kobe Bryant(Biggest jerk in the NBA) was suspended for one game for his bush league foul against Mark Jaric. He has a history of pulling that kind of crap and the league finally called him out on it. I hope this game was a sign of great things to come for Kevin Garnett, Ricky Davis and the rest of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

RANDY WITTMAN WANTS RICKY DAVIS TRADED

A little birdie told me that Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Randy Wittman has told Kevin Mchale and Glen Taylor that he will not come back next year if Ricky Davis is on the team. That ultimatum will put the Timberwolves front office in a tough spot this off season. How can the Timberwolves afford to trade their second best player? What team would actually want Ricky Davis and his attitude issues? What could the Timberwolves get for Ricky Davis? I have the feeling that we will get the answers to all of those questions this summer. Stay tuned, it is really going to get interesting.

TIMBERWOLVES VS. CELTICS RECAP

It was nice to see the Minnesota Timberwolves win today even though it was the lowly Boston Celtics that they beat. Ricky Davis hit a big jumper at the buzzer to send the Boston Celtics to their 18th straight loss. The Minnesota Timberwolves were led by Ricky Davis who finished with 28 points, Kevin Garnett had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and Mark Blount added 20 points for the Wolves. Let's face it, we can't be picky about what constitutes a good win at this juncture of the season. A win is a win for the Timberwolves!
