Minnesota Timberwolves Front Office says goodbye to Fred Hoiberg

Fred Hoiberg the mayor as a player at Iowa State Univeristy The Minnesota Timberwolves front office said goodbye to Fred Hoiberg, a former NBA rising star who had his career cut short due to a heart injury. Just this season, Fred Hoiberg had been down on the floor helping Corey Brewer come back from an injury.
It was then Fred Hoiberg told press that he realized he wanted back into the action of the game. If he couldn't play anymore he wanted to coach. Then fate stepped in, Fred Hoiberg was approached by Iowa State (his Alma mater) to be the new head coach for the Varsity Men's Iowa State Cyclones Basketball team. A hometown hero in Ames, Iowa, locals call Fed Hoiberg "The Mayor" and could not be happier that the former Cyclone Star will be back in cardinal and gold.

Although he had minimal contact with the Minnesota Timberwolves roster, Twolves players will miss his strong work-ethic and dedication to them as well as the game. Congratulations Mr. Mayor!
