Ricky Rubio Showcases His Talent vs. Team USA

Ricky Rubio for Team SpainYesterday Team USA and Spain squared off in Madrid, Spain in a "friendly" exhibition before the World Championships in Turkey next week. Team USA won the nail biter 86-85 in which Kevin Durant blocked a last second shot by Spain's Rudy Fernandez. USA lead the majority of the game until Spain pulled ahead by 2 with a minute left. They hung around and battled back every time when USA looked like it was going to walk away with the victory.

On to Ricky Rubio. The 19 year-old guard looked more than impressive for Team Spain. He finished with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Spain was +19 when he was on the court and his defense was outstanding. A reverse lay-up, behind the back alley-oop pass, and his quick dribbling skills were all on display. Kevin Durant, Coach K, Derek Rose all gave him praise and high remarks after the game. He is a very crafty and explosive player. One more year for Rubio in Spain and hopefully he will make the move to the Minnesota Timberwolves!
