Ricky Rubio 2013-2014 Season Highlights
I was searching through YouTube the other day and found this awesome video made by NBAClutchTime. It showcases all of Rubio's top plays from last year. And boy oh boy, as with most Rubio highlights, these plays will leave your jaw dropped.
Check the video out below. It's a little long, but it's totally worth it.

Joerger Bomb: T-Wolves Lose Top Head Coaching Candidate (Fans Try Not Drowning Their Sorrows With Jägerbombs)
![]() |
With Joerger gone, the dream scenario is now George Karl. |
Welp. According to reports Dave Joerger is returning to the Grizzles after having a one on one conversation with man-child owner Robert Pera. This now leaves Sam Mitchell as the new number one head coaching candidate according to reports.
Having already expressed my concern about hiring Sam
Mitchell, I wish not to think about him standing on the sidelines. Instead, I
will think of other happier things. Such as, potential dream head coaches that
on paper could actually happen, but in reality are as likely to happen as
Robert Pera playing Tony Allen in a game of one on one.
1. George Karl
Ricky Rubio in a George Karl offense would bring great joy
to the world. And considering I more than likely won’t be able to get a playoff
birth out of the Wolves next year, the very least I and all fans could get is
some joy.
2. Lionel Hollins
Despite being a fan of basketball analytics, I understand
they are not the end all be all. You don’t have to use them to be successful –
case in point Lionel Hollins. An old school defensive minded coach who could
unleash a defensive minded T-Wolves team for the first time since the KG days
-- I would love to see what he would do with Rubio on the perimeter and Gorgui
Dieng down low on the defensive end.
3. ANY ASSISTANT FROM THE SPURS
Anyone, I don’t care if it’s the video coordinator. Look at
Atlanta with Mike Budenholzer and Philly with Brett Brown last year. Those two
franchises now have two promising head coaches with them for a long time. Heck,
Atlanta nearly knocked off the top seeded Pacers in the first round thanks to
Budenholzer’s offensive strategy that gave the Pacers fits. The NBA isn’t as
difficult as it seems. You do what Philly, Orlando and Atlanta has done – you
hire people from the best and most progressive thinking front offices (i.e. Spurs,
Thunder, Houston) to run your team. It’s not rocket science.

Ricky Rubio is HOT
Ricky Rubio is my favorite Timberwolves player, for sure! Those smokey Spanish eyes and sultry smile kill me every time I see him hit the court. Ricky Rubio from the Timberwolves is my boy and I can't wait to get to another Timberwolves game to see him in action.

Ricky Rubio at the Target Center
Ricky Rubio was born October 21, 1990 in Barcelona, Spain. Oo la la, Spain. From an early age, Ricky Rubio was a basketball star and at the age of 15 he became the youngest player to play in the Spanish ACB League. Ricky Rubio despite being so young has played for several Spanish Professional Teams. Ricky Rubio started playing Spanish professional basketball for DKV Joventut. While playing with Joventut, Ricky Rubio received several awards including the 2008 Mr. Europa Award.
Ricky Rubio entered the 2009 NBA Draft and was drafted as the 5th overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ricky Rubio was the first player who was born in the 1990s to be drafted into the NBA. The day after the draft, Ricky Rubio’s father announced that he would likely stay in Spain for one more season to avoid they buy-out with his DKV Joventut contract. The rest of the summer was marked with debates of would he or would he not be coming to Minnesota.
At the end of the summer of 2009, Ricky Rubio announced that he was not going to be coming to play on the Minnesota Timberwolves roster. Rubio came to play with the Timberwolves in the 2011-2012 season.
The Timberwolves experienced a new degree of success with Rubio on the court, making him a very valuable asset. In his first season on the Target Center court, Rubio suffered a season-ending injury toward the back-end of the season. However, the Timberwolves are confident Rubio will be a huge future contributor.

Rubio voted runner up for the NBA Rookie of the Year award
We all know the Minnesota Timberwolves are awesome, but I guess I missed this announcement!
Last week, Ricky Rubio was voted second place for the NBA Rookie of the Year award. Even with an injury that knocked him out of the end of his first season, Rubio has drawn positive attention to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Of course, he's always been expected to play well - he was chosen fifth overall in the 2009 draft. When he came back after playing in Spain for two years, he definitely lived up to the hype.
Rubio lost to Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Congrats, Rubio!
