Nikola Pekovic and the Timberwolves

I recently stumbled upon a very interesting article from Business Insider called Eight NBA Players You've Never Even Heard of are Having Stellar Seasons. Of course I had to check it out and see if any of my beloved Timberwolves made the cut. Of course they did!

The article reads: "Nikola Pekovic is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Minnesota. The Timberwolves center's solid interior play (12 points, 7 rebounds per game) allows Kevin Love to move outside the paint where he's more comfortable. Likewise, having Pekovic down low means Love isn't over matched on defense."

Keep reading here.

And look at that lovable face!

Nikola Pekovic's surgery a success

Nikola Pekovic has missed a couple games already due to bone spurs in his ankle. A bone spur is simply excess bone, but it can cause pain, as it apparently did for Pekovic. Today he underwent surgery in New York to have it removed so he can play again.

Although a relatively simple surgery, it's always a relief to hear a surgery went well.

Good luck in the next season, Pekovic!

On Friday, the Timberwolves' center Nikola Pekovic was named the third Most Improved Player in the NBA. He earned 104 points, behind Ryan Anderson with 260 points and Ersan Ilyasova with 159 points. Pekovic finished only his second season with the Timberwolves in April, although he played basketball in Europe for several years before joining the Timberwolves. Although president David Kahn has not promised to keep him, Pekovic's stats certainly speak for themselves.
