Timberwolves Player Profiles: Corey Brewer Strengths

I want to keep this Timberwolves blog going durning the off-season so over the next few weeks, I am going to go through the Timberwolves Roster and document what I believe to be the strengths and weakness of each player. So check back each week for my down and dirty on the Timberwolves players. Go Wolves!

This Week: Corey Brewer Timberwolves Guard Corey Brewer

My thoughts on Corey Brewers Strengths -

Corey Brewer has grown a lot on the offensive side of the ball, and turned himself into a consistent scorer for the Timberwolves this past season. Although he does not handle the ball very well, Corey Brewer still finds ways to score the basketball. He’s extremely confident in not only his shot, but his ability to get to the basket. Brewer started to have a ton of confidence in his three point shot. At one point, Brewer made a 3 point shot in 32 straight games.

The area where Corey Brewer can be most effective for the Timberwolves is on the defensive side of the ball. Brewer’s length and quickness are his greatest assets. If Brewer can contribute enough offensively so that he doesn’t hurt the offense, he has the makings of a stopper. His anticipation for steals is above average as he averaged 1.4 steals last season. He also is a pretty good rebounder.
