The 2010 FIBA World Championships will be this August 28 to September 12 in Turkey. Of the 2008 Gold-Medal winning USA basketball team, no one will be retained on this squad (because they opted not to play - fatigue, team contracts, etc). This has left many new USA players to have the chance to shine on the International circuit. Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves has a very good chance to make Team USA as he has been competing in Las Vegas for a spot on the team. In the Blue-White scrimmage this weekend, Kevin Love had 8 points and 7 rebounds. I think he should make it and gives Team USA a big body presence at power forward. Hopefully the USA coaches feel the same.
