Timberwolves Win, No Joke
Just when I thought the Minnesota Timberwolves weren’t going to win another game this season, they pulled off a victory in Miami beating the Miami Heat last night 111-104.
Sebastian Telfair was the star and it’s about time he steps into that role, but I think the real key was successful 3-pointers. I bought some Gopher Basketball tickets a few weeks back and saw the maroon and gold at The Barn. I made note that the Gopher Basketball team may shoot better for 3 pointers than any other team in college basketball right now and I think that is a big component to their success. Then when I saw the Timberwolves turn on the three point charm last night, I thought, hey they might be able to pull this off and they did!
Randy Foye had back to back threes which was a huge team morale booster as well. I say the Twolves should shoot more threes and just be sure to position some guys under the basket for the inevitable rebounds. A new strategy is definitely needed if the Wolves want to win even 5 more games this season, why not shoot for threes every time?

Sebastian Telfair signs multi-year deal with Timberwolves
Interesting signing news for Minnesota Timberwolves fans! Sebastian Telfair agreed to a two to three year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. This roster move is less puzzling than some others. Having both Sebastian Telfair and Randy Foye in the backcourt is a solid plan for the Timberwolves team. Although I am still bitter about the KG trade, Sebastian Telfair has a chance to shine out of that deal next year. He is still really young (24), but he may able to pull the team together and like his agent Andy Miller said "Sebastian wants to help get this team back to the playoffs." Let's do it!

Timberwolves Free Agents
Awhile back on the Timberwolves web site the Timberwolves put up a free agent poll that read:
Which Wolves restricted free agent is the top priority?
Ryan Gomes
Sebastian Telfair
Craig Smith
Kirk Snyder
This seems a bit like a no brainer to me, I voted for Ryan Gomes. After you vote, you get to see the results – here is what it said:
Ryan Gomes 56%
Sebastian Telfair 21%
Craig Smith 18%
Kirk Snyder 5%
Total Responses: 1166
That means that 58 people voted for Kirk Snyder…seriously? Perhaps they just randomly chose a name they liked? What would be the explanation for 58 people to choose Kirk Snyder over any of the other three? Timberwolves fans, I just shake my head in confusion.

Timberwolves beat Philadelphia 76ers
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated Philadelphia 76ers 104-88 last night to snap a five-game losing streak. That puts the Wolves record at 11-41, the worst record in the West, but the win was a definite morale booster for the team. Al Jefferson played hard and ended the night with 19 points and 14 rebounds against the 76ers and Randy Foye, who missed the first three months of the season with a knee injury, made his first start and finished with 13 points and 5 assists.
Timberwolves head coach Randy Wittman paired Foye and Sebastian Telfair in the backcourt, and said he's not sure how long he'll go with that experiment.
"They'll determine that for me,'' Wittman said. "When you put new combos together, they'll tell me how it's working by how they play.''
This Timberwolves fan enjoyed the combination and was just plain excited to see Randy Foye back on the court and looking healthy – let’s hope the rest of the season is as successful as this game was!

Timberwolves beat Pacers
Perhaps this Timberwolves blogger should post more demeaning jokes regarding the Minnesota Timberwolves because apparently they enjoy the challenge. The Timberwolves actually played well in the fourth quarter of the Indiana Pacers game on Friday night beating the Pacers 131-118 at the Target Center. Antoine Walker, Craig Smith and Gerald Green came off the bench for a combined 47 points and Al Jefferson put up 29 of his own along with 27 from Sebastian Telfair. It was a great performance by all and the Timberwolves victory was a much needed lift. Let’s hope the Timberwolves can play a few more games like that at the Target Center this year and if they can, I would like to buy a ticket for the show! Go Wolves!

Timberwolves lose to Atlanta
The Minnesota Timberwolves barely lost to the Atlanta Hawks 89-90. Hawks Joe Johnson made a buzzer beater to send the Timberwolves back to the locker room after five straight losses. Johnson dribbled right past Sebastian Telfair, this Timberwolves fan was screaming move your feet Telfair, move your feet. It’s no secret that Johnson is strong to the right, but Telfair didn’t force him left. Let’s hope this close defeat can teach the young Wolves team that every basket and every move really does count, especially in the NBA.
