Timberwolves New Schedule Released

The NBA released schedules recently. I gotta say, I'm liking the Wolves schedule for next season! First things first, I love that we open up at home. That place will be packed to see the debuts of Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams, so I could really see us starting the season off with a win. Also we start out the season against Atlanta, at Phillie, then home games vs. Phoenix, Toronto and Sacramento. We could easily win the first game against Atlanta because of the crowd and everything. We'll probably lose at Philadelphia but I could see us taking at least two out of three in those last three home games. That means a 4-1 or 3-2 start is a very real possibility for the Wolves. Here are three games I'm really looking forward too.

November 25th vs. Houston Rockets: No, I don't care about Kevin McHale's return, I just am excited because it will be on ESPN.

December 23rd vs. Dallas Mavericks - Who doesn't want to see the Wolves take on the champs!? Plus the Mavs have Rudy Fernandez from Spain, Ricky vs. Rudy Part one. I can't wait.

February 6th at Memphis - Nothing special here. I just think the Grizz are a really cool team and I want to watch them steam roll the Wolves.

A Timberwolves Win…FINALLY

The Minnesota Timberwolves finally (FINALLY!) snapped their losing streak (10 games in a row to be exact) last night when they beat the Memphis Grizzlies at the Target Center. I breathed a deep sigh of relief because I was seriously starting to believe that this team wasn’t going to win another game this season…sure, I have said that out of anger before, but I was actually starting to believe it. Final Score: Wolves 104 Grizzlies 79

The Grizzlies coach said this:

“…it was the most disappointing game, embarrassing for me as a coach and I hope it was embarrassing for them as a team."

I bet it was embarrassing to lose to the Minnesota Timberwolves – at least I can tell my friends that the Memphis Grizzlies are more pathetic than the Minnesota Timberwolves – misery loves company, right!?!?

Timberwolves acquire Kevin Love and Mike Miller

Well, the Minnesota Timberwolves did not disappoint their fans by making a surprising move(s) during the NBA draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired the draft rights to 6-10 forward Kevin Love, the fifth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, and 6-8 guard/forward Mike Miller in an eight-player trade that sent the draft rights to O.J. Mayo, the Wolves third overall draft pick, to Memphis. As part of the deal, the Wolves also acquired forward Brian Cardinal and center Jason Collins from the Grizzlies, with Memphis receiving guards Marko Jaric and Greg Buckner, and forward Antoine Walker. It was a lot to keep track of.

I just knew the Wolves wouldn’t make it as simple as choosing the third best player and sticking with him (OJ Mayo). Word on the street was that OJ Mayo didn’t want to play for the Timberwolves any way and that was part of Kevin McHales motivation for working out a trade with Memphis. I guess the strib knew what they were doing when they put together that Kevin Love piece. Check back next week for more info on our newest Minnesota Timberwolves players! Have a great Fourth of July Wolves fans!

More Timberwolves losses

The month of December hasn’t started out any better for the Twolves. The Timberwolves lost to Memphis Grizzlies 80-109 on December 1st and then lost to the Los Angeles Lakers last night 95-116. The weather was terrible and the few Target Center fans weren’t feeling any love from their sloppy Timberwolves. What has to happen to this team to turn it around? I think they need a different coach, one that has what it takes to transform young players quickly. The sloppy play is just unacceptable.

You Can Count On Timberwolves

Just when I thought that I couldn't count on the Minnesota Timberwolves, they came through in the clutch. Unfortunately, I am not talking about the Timberwolves winning a big game in the NBA Playoffs but instead I am praising the Wolves for losing when they needed to lose. The Minnesota Timberwolves without Kevin Garnett have now lost seven straight games which is music to my ears. By losing to the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, the Timberwolves guaranteed themselves one of the seven worst records in the NBA which means they will retain their number one draft pick.

Who knows, maybe the Timberwolves will actually get a lucky ping pong ball roll and move up in the NBA draft. All I know is that Durant or Odom would sure look good in a MN. Timberwolves jersey. It would be a much needed miracle for an NBA franchise that is on life support.

I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES

I didn't get a chance to catch the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Memphis Grizzlies game last night All I have to say is Thank god! It was bad enough to read about it in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The Timberwolves couldn't keep the momentum that they had gained after routing the Golden State Warriors two days prior to their game versus the Grizzlies. After losing to one of the worst teams in basketball, I am starting to think that the Minnesota Timberwolves are just plain bad. It was only the thirteenth win for the Grizzlies. It won't be long before I as a fan of the Timberwolves will start cheering against my favorite NBA team. They are on life support right now and by losing more basketball games, they will guarantee themselves a better draft pick. Who know maybe Kevin McHale can draft Ndudi Ebi?
